education

The educational mission of the First Episcopal District is to provide learning opportunities that holistically prepare its members for Christian service, self-sufficiency and daily living skills.

The hallmark of this comprehensive and unified program of study begins with Christian Education that provides preparation and programmatic guidance for the work of teaching in the local and general church. Church School prepares and recruits adults and children for the education of Christian principles essential to effective Christian growth and service.

True to its mission, the Church presents approximately thirteen schools of higher education positioned in the United States as well as South and West Africa. The scope of these institutions ranges from theological to secular undergraduate and graduate programs of study.

Scholarship, grant and financial aid resource opportunities are continually explored through the Colleges and Universities, the First District's College Resource program and private grantors.

The education mission is further reflected through the publication of scholarly subjects offering moral, religious, political, economic and intellectual contributions to the Church and larger society.
