church school

As the evangelistic arm of the First District, the Church School equips tomorrow's church leaders with the knowledge and skills to continue to advance the AME Church and Christian education. With a mission of "teaching Christ and reaching all," the Church School has variety of programs designed to foster both educational and spiritual growth.

The Church School's Teacher and Superintendent Certification Program enhances the quality and message of Christian Education Ministry by:

  • Motivating teachers and superintendents to increase their basic Biblical knowledge.
  • Providing teachers with more in-depth Biblical background and training and techniques to add richness to the learning experience.
  • Providing training in order to encourage more people to teach.
  • Increasing spiritual growth of teachers and superintendents.

The Church School aims to equip teachers with the insight and ability to bring others to Christ because:

  • Equipping is Christ's plan for every believer (Acts 13:20-21, Eph 4:11-13).
  • Equipping requires personal commitment (2 Tim 2:21).
  • Equipping is the purpose of the Church (Col 1:25-28).
